Our work together: My practice may be a great fit for you if you are motivated to explore and address the impacts of trauma/PTSD, anxiety, mood disorders, sleep concerns, and/or relationship challenges on your life. I believe that you know yourself best, and that at times, we can all benefit from guidance as we navigate challenges. I strive to offer a warm, supportive, nonjudgmental space to help you work towards your goals.
The types of therapy that I utilize in my practice are evidence-based, meaning that they have been substantially researched and found to be effective for managing specific mental health challenges. I typically use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and incorporate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). In addition, I am trained in three structured PTSD treatments, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Written Exposure Therapy (WET). In my work with couples, I utilize Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT). I also offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBTI) for the treatment of insomnia. In our work together, we will discuss which type of treatment is the right fit for you. Ultimately, I believe that a flexible approach to treatment is usually the most beneficial.
About me: I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology with a trauma emphasis from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and my BA in Psychology and Health: Science, Society, and Policy from Brandeis University. I completed my APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado. Additionally, I gained experience providing evidence-based treatments for individuals and couples through my training with the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center Family Program, the PFC Floyd K. Lindstrom VA PTSD Clinical Team, and the UCCS Veterans Health and Trauma Clinic. Prior to training in Colorado, I also trained at the Israel Center for the Treatment of Psychotrauma in Jerusalem, and McLean Hospital's Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorders Research Program.
Throughout my graduate training, I conducted research focused on adaptation after trauma exposure through the Cognition, Emotion, and Wellbeing Lab at UCCS and I use this research experience to guide my evidence-based psychotherapy practice.
I do not currently accept insurance and take only self-pay. I am able to provide superbills for you to provide your insurance company. I do not currently offer in-person appointments; appointments at this time are offered via telehealth.
